His 40-year corporate career ranged from American Express, Citibank, AIG and Principal Financial Group. There, he created and managed prominent joint-venture companies in partnership with some of the largest financial institutions in the world, such as China Construction Bank, Banco do Brasil, Punjab National Bank in India and CIMB in Malaysia, involving over $240 Billion in managed assets with more than 26 Million customers.
Norman, a former Chairman of the International Insurance Society and the U.S. Coalition of Service Industries, appeared before the U.S. Senate Finance Committee and the U.S. House Trade Committee at hearings on China's, Singapore's and Chile's accession to the World Trade Organization. He has also served as board member or Chairman of several U.S. and foreign publicly-listed and private companies, as well as an angel investor in leading-edge, start-up technology and bio-tech companies.
Norman, who is originally from Uruguay and has been based in several European and Latin American countries, has always had a keen interest in growing international businesses congruent with their various cultures and languages. His expertise is in helping bridge cultural gaps in building joint-venture partnerships and enterprises across financial, technological and consumer-based opportunities. Norman brings his extensive operating experience and wide financial network in the U.S., Europe, Latin America and Asia to coalesce around the team's potential venture opportunities.
Personally, he is committed to using his charitable foundation to help under-privileged youngsters to learn and thrive in the U.S. and abroad. Finally, on a more intimate basis, Norman is an avid scuba diver, skier and tennis player, three passions which he endeavors never to surrender. Alas, he still does the occasional sky-dive up in Vermont.
Norman’s top bucket list item is to scuba dive at Fernando de Noronha (a lone island 200 miles off Brazil's coast) - purported to be life-changing sensational!
