Dave, an engineer by trade, is passionate about the chemistry of it all, and atypical of an engineer, is an extrovert who enjoys understanding what makes people ‘tick’.

Dave Robins brings deep expertise in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech industries. He is co-CEO of Davos Pharma, a service provider in manufacturing/regulatory needs for the pharma/biotech industry that has brought over 70 drugs to market. Dave is also co-founder and Chairman of the Board at LifeLens, a medical device company that is revolutionizing physiological monitoring and patient tracking for military and civilian use. In addition, Dave is co-founder and board member for Autonomix, a company that is monitoring electrical nerve trafficking inside the body between organs and the brain.

With an extensive background in chemical engineering, he is passionate about the processes to manufacture at scale efficiently and safely. Atypical of an engineer though, he is a bit extroverted and enjoys building relationships and understanding what makes people “tick”. He loves hearing about other people’s experiences to learn and apply learnings to his own life. His favorite quote is “Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens.”

At NCV, Dave is focused on all potential investments in pharma, biotech, and medtech. He has a vast and global network of investors, founders, regulatory insiders (FDA and EMEA), and manufacturers, that he makes available quickly and easily to NCV founders.

Even though he is an engineer with a bend towards deep analytical reasoning,  he has always been amazed by people that can pick up a pencil and draw, or pick up an instrument and easily play a tune. He tells stories of when his mother would send him to her parents farm in the plains of Alberta and he would be bored out of his mind until his cousins would come and bring their banjos, guitars and fiddles. He slowly learned some basic melodies from his uncle and went on to take numerous lessons, even playing at a local bar with his teacher in high school.

Although he can hold a tune, he remembers how this was a real struggle for him. But, being someone who isn’t afraid of getting out of his comfort zone and enjoys a challenge, he pushed through that struggle and continues to pursue his musical passions to date.

Reflecting on his bucket list, he wants to play the guitar or the banjo in a room full of people who enjoy it so much that they never want to leave!
